Akram Hesso: We seek to hold national conference

The Kurdistan National Congress held a symposium in Qamishlo on Sunday entitled "The Necessity of Kurdish Unity and Joint Action to Confront Expected Changes in the Future of the Middle East Region."

Following the seminar, which highlighted the importance of unity and its impact on the future, we held an interview with Akram Hesso; the member of the Kurdistan National Congress's administrative body and the member of the Congress's administrative committee in Rojava.

Akram Hesso, who moderated the seminar, explained that the "Peace and Democratic Society" process carries a beacon of hope that heralds the victory of Rojava Kurdistan, and all Kurds.

He also noted the Kurdistan National Congress's efforts to convene a comprehensive national conference at the Kurdistan level, based on the April 26 Conference (the Conference on Kurdish Unity and Position in Rojava Kurdistan), which was held in Qamishlo on April 26 of last year.

Regarding the convening of this conference, Akram shared this information with us, "This conference will be held with the participation of all politicians, political parties, figures and activists. With their participation, we can form a committee that supports the Kurdish people and the Kurds issue in Rojava, Bashur, Bakur and Rojhilat Kurdistan in difficult times, and works to obtain the Kurds' rights."

Akram Hesso stated that the date for the conference has not yet been set, as this matter requires considerable work and effort. He continued, "We hope it will be held soon; we haven't started yet, but it is on our agenda."

Hesso pointed to the attempts of Kurdistan occupiers to obstruct the conference, saying, "This conference cannot be thwarted. Just as the conference of April 26th was held, this conference will be held as well."

Hesso emphasized that the Kurdish unity will greatly serve the "peace and democratic society" process, and that the process, in turn, will serve Kurdish unity. He added, "Building unity and continuing the process will guarantee that the Kurds achieve their rights at the Middle East and global levels."
