The governors of Hasaka and Raqqa agreed on the necessity of creating suitable conditions for the return of displaced Kurds to the city of Raqqa, in accordance with the agreement of January 29th.

Hasaka Governor Nour Eddin Ahmed met on Sunday with Raqqa Governor Abdel Rahman Salama to discuss the return of displaced persons to Raqqa city, in accordance with the January 29th Agreement.

The two sides discussed the general situation of Kurdish citizens in Raqqa Governorate, ways to enhance local stability, and creating suitable conditions to facilitate the return of more than two thousand Kurdish families to their original areas within the governorate.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the need to protect Kurdish citizens and safeguard their rights, create appropriate conditions for their return to their areas, and work to reinforce trust and ensure they will not face any harassment in the future.

A field visit to Kurdish families residing in Raqqa city is scheduled to follow the meeting to assess their situation and listen to their demands and needs.
