After unfair trial, Iran sentences 4 Kurdish prisoners to death

Under the pretext of “cooperation with Israel" an Iranian authorities court sentenced four Kurdish political prisoners from eastern Kurdistan to death: Mohsen Mazloum, Mohammad Framarzi, Wafa Azarbar, and Pejman Fatehi.

In a tweet, Masoud Shamsinejad, the lawyer appointed by the families of these four political prisoners confirmed that the trial of his clients was not fair.

The lawyer said: “I do not consider the final death sentence just and fair.”

The details of the charges and sentences issued against these prisoners were not clear, and human rights sources, including the “Hengaw” and “Harana” websites, expressed their concern about the possible imminent implementation of the death sentence for these prisoners, pointing to the confidentiality of arrest and trial.

According to reports, these four people were members of the Iranian Kurdistan's Komaleh Party, and they were arrested in Soma Bradost region, Urmia, last August.

After their arrest, official media, including Tasnim News Agency, accused them of “attempting to blow up industrial facilities in Isfahan.”

According to Hengaw, after the publication of these reports, the Iranian Kurdistan Komaleh Party denied these allegations, describing them as baseless, and announced in a statement that “such a scenario aims to suppress more citizens and demonstrators.”

Four other political prisoners were executed in Urmia prison about two weeks ago, on charges of "spying for Israel."
