Afro-Asian solidarity organization delegation visits Qamishlo

Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department Ilham Ahmed met today in Qamishlo with Dr. Mohammed Ihsan, Secretary-General of the Afro-Asian Solidarity Organization, and his accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed international and regional developments and ways to strengthen cooperation.

The delegation included Azad Ibrahim Mohieddin and Saeed Nusrat Khorshid. Also attending the meeting were Leyla Musa, representative of the Syrian Democratic Council in Cairo, and Khaled Ibrahim, who is responsible for the “terrorism” portfolio within the Foreign Relations Department.

The meeting addressed the latest developments at the international and regional levels, with a focus on the situation in Syria. The sides also discussed prospects for future cooperation in various fields of interest to the organization, which is one of the oldest regional organizations in the area and includes dozens of countries among its members.

For his part, Dr. Mohammed Ihsan, Secretary-General of the Afro-Asian Solidarity Organization, explained the organization’s objectives and its role in strengthening cooperation among peoples in various fields. He also presented Ilham Ahmed with a commemorative shield and a collection of his publications.
