Afrin-Shahba women condemn torture, extermination against leader Ocalan
Members of women’s organizations in Afrin-Shahba Canton denounced the torture and extermination regime imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan and affirmed their commitment to broadening the struggle to achieve his physical freedom.
The torture and extermination regime imposed by Turkish authorities on leader Abdullah Ocalan, preventing him from meeting his family and lawyers, has provoked strong reactions from various communities, especially from women demanding his physical freedom.
In this context, members of women’s organizations in the Afrin-Shahba Canton, in the NE Syria region, condemned the torture and extermination regime imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan in a statement.
The statement was read by Kongra Star members Farida Aibo in Arabic and Shirin Mohammed in Kurdish in the town of Al-Ahdath in Shahba, with a large presence of women from the Canton. The statement emphasized that leader Abdullah Ocalan saved communities from certain genocide due to attacks by dominant regimes.
The statement recalled the international conspiracy against leader Abdullah Ocalan on October 9, 1998.
During the statement, the women’s organizations reaffirmed their commitment to expanding the struggle to achieve Leader Abdullah Ocalan's physical freedom and to break the torture and extermination regime imposed on him. They also called on all women to join the collective struggle for this cause.
