Affirmations of persistence in securing Tishreen Dam

Residents of Tabqa and Deir-ez-Zor cantons converged to Tishreen Dam to partake in peaceful sit-in strike for securing dam against Turkish occupation's attacks with their mercenaries as residents affirm a great level of morale.

Hundreds of residents of Raqqa, Deir-ez-Zor and Tabqa cantons have arrived at Tishreen Dam today, in order to take part in the protest activity that has been underway on the dam body since January 8.

This is the second time that the people of Deir-ez-Zor, Tabqa and Raqqa cantons have headed to Tishreen Dam.

Adnan Aliwi, head of the Ahl al-Bayt Association in the Democratic Islam Conference of Tabqa Canton, confirmed: "The Turkish state is trying to occupy Tishreen Dam, and is using inhumane and immoral methods. It is committing war crimes against civilians on Tishreen Dam, and targeting convoys heading to the dam." He explained that their morale is high.

Ghalia Mohammad, from Tabqa Canton, also headed to Tishreen Dam, and said: "Turkey is committing massacres against our people who are on duty at the dam. We will not leave Tishreen Dam if a single person remains in every region of North and East Syria. The resistance will continue. We will not allow Turkey to occupy our country."

The protesters at the dam were directly attacked by the Turkish occupation via warplanes and drones, and so far about 20 citizens have been martyred and 120 others have been injured.
