Activists: Releasing Leader Ocalan is a step toward sustainable peace

Several politicians and activists monitoring the situation in Imrali Prison have stated that the campaigns advocating for the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan over the past two decades have yielded positive results. They expressed hope for increased efforts to create the right conditions for the leader to continue his work in promoting peace.

Speaking to ANHA agency, Amina Khadro, spokesperson for the Syrian Initiative for leader Ocalan’s Freedom in Aleppo, said:

“The oppression imposed by authoritarian regimes on the peoples of the Middle East has contributed to their marginalization and the stripping of their will. This is precisely what leader the leader has addressed through his philosophy, documented in his writings.”

She added, “The Imrali phase has opened vast horizons for leader Abdullah Ocalan’s strategy, which is based on his analyses of the Middle East and its unresolved issues. He has proposed a sustainable peace project that directly engages the will of the peoples.”

Khadro pointed out that the Turkish occupying state views this project as a threat to its existence, prompting it to impose a regime of torture and extermination on the leader. In response, global campaigns demanding his physical freedom have confronted these actions with revolutionary methods.

International Pressure

Regarding the impact of global campaigns, Khadro said: “These mass campaigns have exerted pressure on the European Union and the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, ultimately forcing the Turkish authorities to break the wall of isolation by allowing the leader to meet with a delegation from the Equality and Peoples’ Democracy Party.”

She concluded by calling on all the peoples of the world to “join events and activities supporting the achievement of leader Ocalan’s physical freedom.”

The Democratic Nation Project

Meanwhile, Zainab Dawood, the member of the Women’s Council of the Democratic Union Party, affirmed: “Twenty-six years of struggle and resistance against strict isolation in Imrali Prison have forced the Turkish state to negotiate with leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

She noted that “the Turkish occupying state continues to obstruct a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue by preventing the establishment of democracy.” She emphasized that “creating the right conditions for the leader will lead to the resolution of all unresolved crises in the Middle East and the world in record time.”

Concluding her statement, Zainab described the Democratic Nation project as “the ideal solution for all the peoples of the world, especially the Kurdish people, as it protects all cultures from extermination and massacres, in accordance with the teachings of leader Abdullah Ocalan.”
