Eight people were killed in Syria over the past 24 hours in separate incidents, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

In Quneitra countryside, a child was killed by a landmine explosion while working with his father on a bulldozer to remove earth berms in the Tal Kruk area near the town of Jaba.

In the Damascus countryside, a man from Ashrafieh Sahnaya died in a prison about two weeks after he was arrested in connection with recent events in the town.

In the Homs countryside, a mine explosion killed a child in the town of Tal Dahaba in the Houla region, while a man and his son were killed by a similar explosion in their car in the Jabal Shaer region.

In Daraa, the body of a former officer was found shot dead on the Ghabaghib-Muthbin road in the city's northern countryside.

In the countryside of Baniyas, the body of a postal employee was found in the town of al-Bayda. He was killed and his body was mutilated on his way back to his village of Kokab, in an incident whose circumstances remain unclear.

In Damascus, a member of the Damascus Authority security forces from the town of Kalli in rural Idlib was shot in the head with a friend's gun while the two were joking around, the Observatory reported
