The Counter-Terrorism Directorate of the Kurdistan Region’s federal administration said that International Coalition forces managed to down eight explosive-laden drones over Hawler early today.

In a statement, the directorate explained that the interceptions took place between 4:19 a.m. and 5:25 a.m., noting that the incident did not result in any deaths or injuries. It did not provide further details about the origin of the drones or the party that launched them.

Earlier today, an Iranian missile strike targeted the headquarters of the Revolutionary Toilers’ Association of Iranian Kurdistan (Komala) in Sulaymaniyah, southern Kurdistan, leading to the martyrdom of eight Peshmerga fighters and injuring others.
