Preparations are underway today for dozens of families from the city of Serêkaniyê to return to their villages and lands; residents are dismantling their tents, gathering their belongings, and preparing for transport, coinciding with the arrival of dozens of trucks—arranged by the Serêkaniyê Displaced Persons Committee—into the Serêkaniyê camp.

An estimated 689 families, totaling nearly 7,000 people, are set to depart tomorrow as part of the second convoy.

This move follows the receipt of necessary security guarantees from the authorities overseeing security and administration in the governorate and the region, along with assurances that required measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the returnees and the stability of the villages to which they are returning, according to the media office of the Serêkaniyê Displaced Persons Committee.

This marks the second wave of returns, following the departure of the first group on August 10.
