The General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria issued a statement today regarding the recent attacks on its security checkpoints in Tabqa and Shaddadi. The statement read:

"In light of the systematic media campaign and ongoing incitement by parties seeking to spread chaos and discord throughout Syria, particularly in the north and east of Syria, terrorist groups targeted two of our forces' checkpoints in the city of Tabqa, wounding two of our members. One of our security checkpoints in the city of Shaddadi was also subjected to a treacherous attack yesterday morning, July 14, resulting in the martyrdom of five of our members.

These actions, which target our forces in an attempt to undermine stability and spread chaos, will not deter us from fulfilling our duty to protect our society and preserve its security. We will exert all possible efforts to thwart the hostile project pursued by these groups and entities seeking to sow chaos in Syria in general, and in the regions of north and east Syria in particular.

We confirm that our forces have begun conducting extensive investigations to uncover the identities of these groups, pursue their supporters, and bring them before the competent judiciary to receive their just punishment.

We, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, wish a speedy recovery to our wounded. We offer our deepest condolences to ourselves and to the families of our righteous martyrs. We pledge to follow in their footsteps, adhering to the gains of the revolution and the principles of our people, for whom they sacrificed."
