The Violations Documentation Center revealed the names of 32 male and female citizens who remained in Afrin, which is occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, where they were kidnapped during the month of January in the occupied Afrin canton, in a report published on its website.

Afrin has been occupied by the Turkish army and its mercenaries since March 2018, after it launched a large-scale ground and air attack, in which it used various weapons from its military arsenal, during which it met with heroic popular resistance from its people that lasted 58 days, starting on January 20.

According to the center, the kidnapping cases occurred as follows:

January 2, 2024:

The National Army mercenaries (Suleiman Shah/Al-Amshat) kidnapped the citizens “Rifat Bahjat Hussein,” “Zaki J,” and “Zakaria Muhammad Rashid, 51 years old,” because they failed to provide $10,000 and pay it to Abu Amsha, the leader of the faction, as fees imposed on the olive press they owned in Qarmatlaq village.

The mercenaries of the National Army - Al-Amshat - kidnapped the citizen “Dirar Mahmoud Mustafa Daoud” because he refused to leave his house, which Abu Amshat - the commander of Al-Amshat - decided to confiscate under the pretext that he did not have a title deed because the house belonged to his cousin.

The mercenaries of the National Army - Political Security - kidnapped the citizen, “Kawa Ahmed Muhammad, 33 years old,” while he was working as a taxi driver in the center of the city of Afrin. He is a resident of the village of Qoshu in the Bulbul district of Afrin countryside.

The National Army mercenaries kidnapped the citizen, “Arif Omar Ali, 36 years old,” after his arrival in the city of Azaz after his deportation from Turkey. He is a resident of the village of Maidanki in the Sharan district.

January 3, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army (Intelligence Service) stormed the village of Kolya Fawqani/Kole Goren in Rajo district in the Afrin countryside. They searched several houses and arrested the two girls, “Hanifa Suleiman Suleiman - 20 years old, Zainab Suleiman Suleiman - 21 years old” and took them to an unknown destination. The two girls, who are sisters, Zainab and Hanifa, were previously arrested after the occupation of the Afrin region in 2018 by the “Hamzat” Division militia. They are aged: Hanifa, 15 years old, and Zainab, 16 years old. They were released after their family paid a ransom estimated at $11,000 at the time.

The civil police “intelligence” also kidnapped the young man, “Hassan Aslan Bakir Kutah, 46 years old,” from the village of Anqla in the Shia district of the Afrin countryside.

January 5, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army, “Free Civil Police Militia,” kidnapped citizen Hanif Bahri Bakr, 47 years old, from the town of Bulbul, while he was in the building of the local council, “Department of Civil Affairs,” to issue an identity card. The mercenaries of the National Army “Military Police” kidnapped four people in the town of Jindires in the Afrin countryside, including 3 children: Ashiq Al-Amouri (7 years old), Asaad Al-Awaid (3 years old), and Alaa Jamous (3 years old).

January 10, 2024:

National Army mercenaries kidnapped the citizen, Dalil Mustafa, 32 years old, from the people of Maaratah in the Afrin countryside.

The National Army “Civil Police” mercenaries kidnapped a Kurdish citizen, “Sabri Muhammad Sheikho, 60 years old,” from the people of Jalama village in the Janders district in the Afrin countryside, and he was taken to an unknown destination.

January 12, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army (Suleiman Shah), controlling the village of Qurzila in the countryside of the city of Afrin, kidnapped the village mayor, “Abdo Najjar,” and a number of residents, including Ibrahim Abdo, and brutally beat them, under the pretext of not paying the imposed financial royalty, amounting to 5,000 US dollars.

January 13, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army, “Suqur Al-Shamal”, led by the so-called Hassan Khairiya, kidnapped the citizen Ibrahim Muhammad from the Sto family, 38 years old, from the village of Aboudan, and took him to an unknown destination and demanded a ransom for his release.

January 14, 2024:

Mercenaries of the National Army (Civil Police) stormed homes in the village of Kulian Fawqani in the countryside of Raju district, and arrested a number of citizens, known as: Ali Mahmoud Suleiman, Fatima Muhammad Suleiman, Rayhana Muhammad Yusuf. They were taken to the security headquarters in the district center, and arbitrarily detained in a prison. the town. The same party had kidnapped two sisters, Hanifa Suleiman and Zainab Suleiman, from the same family early this month.

January 18, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army (the Military Police) kidnapped the citizen Abdo Rashid Hanan, 45 years old, from the village of Julaqa in the Bulbul district, while he was passing through the Al-Shatt checkpoint in the Azaz city junction, while he was going in a pickup truck to buy an agricultural tractor plow. Abdo was previously arrested by the “Ninth Division Militia,” and was released after paying a financial ransom, and his house is still seized by the National Army.

January 19, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army (Military Police) in the Rajo district center kidnapped the elderly citizen Almas, 65 years old, the wife of the citizen Muhammad Barim, from the village of Hajika Tahtani in the Rajo district.

January 23, 2024:

Mercenaries of the National Army (Political Security) stormed the village of Kulian Tahtani in Rajo district, and randomly kidnapped a number of citizens, including: Muhammad Mahmoud Suleiman, 53 years old, Mustafa Muhammad Bakr, 33 years old.

The elderly Kurdish man, Ali Omar (Abu Rashid), 71 years old, from the village of Alamdar in Rajo district, was also arrested. Also, the Kurdish engineer, Ramzi Haj Rashid, a resident of the same village, has been kidnapped since early December 2022, by the “military police” without trial.

January 24, 2024:

The mercenaries of the National Army (Military Police) in the city of Afrin kidnapped the citizen Firas Khalil Nouri, 40 years old, from the village of Deirwan in Sharan district, who works in the city market on a vegetable stall, and they took him to an unknown destination.
