300 detainees arrive in Hasaka in implementation of January 29 Agreement

The number of detainees reaching the city is 300, originating from various Syrian cities including Hasaka, Qamishlo, Kobani, Afrin, Deir ez-Zor, Al-Shaddadi, and Aleppo. Among them are civilians, some of whom were captured, abducted, or detained during previous periods, particularly during attacks by the Turkish army and its affiliated factions on different areas in North and East Syria, prior to the recent military escalation.

The reception ceremony was attended by Hasaka Governor Nour al-Din Ahmed, Deputy Commander of Internal Security Mahmoud Khalil, and Asayish commander Nesrin Abdullah, along with several local figures, dignitaries, and officials from the Autonomous Administration.

In return, the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces, through Internal Security Forces, handed over a number of detainees to the Syrian Interim Government who had been captured during recent battles.

Earlier today, Mahmoud Khalil announced the release of 300 detainees at 13:00 at Al-Sabbagh roundabout in Hasaka, as part of ongoing efforts to resolve the detainee file.

This batch arrives as part of the implementation of the agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government, amid hopes from families that upcoming stages will include the release of more detainees and the return of the remaining missing persons to their families.

The previous batch of detainees had arrived in Hasaka on March 10, numbering 100 individuals.
