3 new members appointed to Turkish Parliamentary Committee

The İYİ Party failed to select a representative for the Turkish parliamentary committee on "National Support, Brotherhood, and Democracy." Therefore, the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, sent a letter to the parliamentary groups of the AKP, CHP, and DEM, asking each to nominate one member.

According to the Parliament’s Presidency statement:

“Since the İYİ Party parliamentary group informed the Parliament Presidency of its decision not to participate in the committee’s work, the three seats allocated to it remain vacant. Consequently, the membership quotas in the committee were recalculated, and the AKP, CHP, and DEM parliamentary groups were requested to submit the name of the deputy who will occupy the additional membership allocated to them, no later than 5:00 PM on Monday, August 11, 2025.”

The committee currently includes: the Justice and Development Party (AKP) with 21 deputies, the Republican People’s Party (CHP) with 10 deputies, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) with 4 deputies, the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) with 4 deputies, and the New Path Alliance (which includes the Future Party, Democracy and Progress Party, and Felicity Party) with 3 deputies. Meanwhile, the parties Huda Par, Renew Welfare, the Turkish Workers’ Party (TİP), the Labour Party (EMEP), and the Democratic Left Party (DSP) are each represented by one member in the committee.
