2nd group of Afrin displaced to return home on Thursday

Another group of displaced people from Afrin will return to their homes next Thursday. According to the Afrin-Shahba Displaced Persons Council, 200 families from Rajo district and the city center of Afrin will return to their areas.

After the first group of displaced people from Afrin arrived safely in their homes on Tuesday morning, preparations are underway for the return of the second group.

In this context, the Afrin-Shahba Displaced Persons Council revealed to ANHA agency that the second group will depart next Thursday, March 12.

This new group comprises approximately 200 families, and will return to Rajo district and the city center of Afrin.

The first group, consisting of about 3,000 individuals from 400 families, departed on Monday afternoon (March 9) from the city of Hasaka, passing through the cities of Raqqa, Tabqa, and Aleppo, before arriving in Afrin at dawn on March 10th.

The group was accompanied by the Internal Security Forces, the deputy commander of the Internal Security Forces in Hasaka, Mahmoud Khalil, the Asayish (Internal Security) commander, Nesrin Abdullah, and other government officials involved in this matter.

The return of the displaced people came as part of the implementation of the terms of the January 29th Agreement signed between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Syrian Interim Government.
