2 persons arrested for planning to assassinate Deniz Cevdet, killer fled to Baghdad

On September 18, the representative office of the Kurdistan National Congress in Hewler was subjected to an armed attack, leading to the martyrdom of the representative of the Kurdistan National Congress in Hewler, Deniz Cevdet Bülbün.

The lawyer in the case of the martyr Deniz Cevdet, Aso Hashem, announced the arrest of two suspects in the case of the murder of Deniz Cevdet, but the killer of Deniz Cevdet fled to Baghdad.

Lawyer Aso Hashem told Roj News that 3 people were involved in the murder of Deniz Cevdet, and 2 of them were arrested as planners of the attack. One of them was 45 years old and the other was 38 years old, and they both held Turkish citizenship.

Lawyer Hashem said: “Investigations revealed that these two people were behind the killing of Deniz Cevdet. The suspects also admitted to planning to assassinate Deniz, but the one who carried out the assassination of Deniz Cevdet was a hired killer from the Arab community. The killer fled to Baghdad, and the security forces are trying to arrest him. The case is being conducted in a legal manner. According to Article 2 of the Terrorism Law, the accused will be tried.”

Lawyer Aso Hashem continued his speech: “The trial process will take place after the investigations are completed. Since the arrest of one of the suspects yesterday, investigations are still ongoing. The two people who were arrested were the ones who planned to assassinate Deniz. They convinced an Arab person, in exchange for some money, to carry out the attack. But he fled to Baghdad.”
