18 students and teachers martyred in Turkish occupation attacks on NE, Syria

During two months of attacks by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the Euphrates Canton in North and East Syria, 18 students and teachers were martyred, and eight others were wounded in shelling of schools, in addition to the destruction of a number of schools and the deprivation of hundreds of students from studying.

Since December 8 of last year, the Turkish occupation state has once again escalated its attacks on various areas in North and East Syria, especially on the Euphrates Canton, focusing on the countryside of Kobani and the Tishrin Dam area.

The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries targeted service facilities, including drinking water and electricity stations, with warplanes, drones and heavy weapons, which led to their complete destruction, in addition to committing massacres against civilians, especially in the countryside of Kobani.

Dozens of schools were also completely damaged, and some were partially damaged, depriving hundreds of students of education.

18 male and female students, a male and female teacher, were martyred, and 8 others were wounded in separate attacks, according to what the Autonomous Administration reported today.

According to what was recently published on the official website of the Education Authority in the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton from a meeting with the co-chair of the authority, Ahmed Ahmed, he said that the targeting included primary schools.

The schools that were damaged in the city of Kobani in the Euphrates Canton; "Kharous" School south of the city of Kobani, which is a model primary school consisting of one floor, was completely destroyed.

The "Ja'dah Maghara" school, a two-story model primary school located in the southwestern countryside of Kobani city, was completely destroyed.

The "Tal Al-Abr" school, a two-story model primary school located in the western countryside of Kobani city, was partially damaged on the second floor.

The damaged schools in the city of Sarin in the Euphrates canton; "Dikan" school, which is a one-room primary school, was completely destroyed.

Ahmed also pointed out that the Turkish occupation's targeting of schools has deprived hundreds of students from receiving education due to the collapse of school buildings in the Euphrates canton, in addition to the deaths and injuries, which has affected the educational system in the Euphrates canton.
