Settlement of 90 Syrian refugees in the occupied Girê Spi canton

Within the framework of the demographic change policy pursued by the Turkish occupation state in the occupied Girê Spi canton, yesterday it deported 90 Syrian refugees from its lands to the canton, bringing the number of deportees this month to 580 people.

A local source from the occupied Girê Spi canton reported that yesterday, Sunday, the Turkish occupation authorities handed over 90 refugees to its “Military Police” mercenaries through the border gate, in preparation for settling them in the homes of forcibly displaced people.

With the entry of this batch of Syrian refugees, the number of deportees during the current month rises to 580 refugees, including 12 Iraqis.

While the number of refugees deported during the past month was the largest since the start of deportation and resettlement operations, as our agency documented the deportation of 3,065 Syrian refugees during the month of last September.

Since Turkish officials announced in early April of last year their intention to build settlements in the occupied territories and deport a million Syrian refugees to them, ANHA's agency has documented the deportation of 28,445 refugees through the Girê Spi border gate.
