​​​​​​​PYD calls for joining the global campaign for Leader Ocalan

On October 10, international unions and political parties in 74 cities around the world announced the “Freedom for Ocalan, the political solution to the Kurdish issue” campaign.

The General Council of the Democratic Union Party issued a statement, calling on all members and supporters of our party and all the people of the components of northern and eastern Syria to join this campaign and its various activities in the homeland and abroad.

The text of the statement published on the party’s official website read:

“With the passage of time, it becomes clear to all forces calling for peace, democracy, and stability in the world that the Kurdish issue is at the top of the issues that must be resolved, given that it concerns tens of millions of people in Kurdistan, which is at the center of the conflict in the Middle East, and that the key to the solution is in the hands of the reserved leader Abdullah Ocalan.” On a remote island, in solitary confinement under torture for twenty-five years.

The Kurdish issue resulted from the ambitions of the global hegemonic powers that drew the borders of nation-states in accordance with their interests and denied the aspirations of the peoples at the beginning of the twentieth century. Its final episode was the Treaty of Lausanne, which divided Kurdistan between four nation-states. Since that date, genocides and massacres against peoples have not stopped as they have never the rebellions of components and peoples, led by the resistance of the Kurdish people in the face of injustice, tyranny and tyranny, will stop, making Kurdistan a hotbed of global and regional conflict and its tools, a conflict that now threatens world peace.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan was born, raised, grew up, and lived within this suffering. He was able to develop the thought and philosophy of the democratic nation, which is the balm for the dead knot that the hegemonic forces created a century ago, and he was able to create the necessary force to achieve this. That is why the hegemonic forces arranged a conspiracy that resulted in the leader being captured and handed over to... Turkish fascism, which does not recognize any moral or legal standards, has been practicing all forms of torture and abuse for twenty-five years.

The Kurdish people, with all their organizations and political forces, together with the democratic world forces working for global peace and stability and the friends of the Kurdish people, are carrying out a campaign entitled “Freedom for Leader Apo and the solution to the Kurdish issue” at the global level, and since we in Rojavay Kurdistan are part of this issue, and one of the forces most calling for peace and solution. And stability in Syria and the region. We call on all members and supporters of our party and all the people of the components of northern and eastern Syria to join this campaign and its various activities at home and in the diaspora, and we believe that our people will crown their struggle with victory and achieve the physical freedom of leader APO.
