Brutal Turkish attacks on shrines of martyrs

According to the ANF News Agency, the Turkish occupation army attacked the shrine of the martyr Rojat Balozari in the village of Khirbet Basta, the Turkish occupation soldiers destroyed 60 shrines in the shrine and broke their tombstones.

The people of the area reported that the occupation soldiers had previously detonated explosive materials in the shrine.

The Turkish occupation army closed the area where the shrine is located to the people, that is why families of the martyrs have not been able to visit the shrines of their children for years.

They destroyed thousands of shrines in 6 years

During the last six years, the Turkish occupation army destroyed thousands of shrines and dozens of martyrs’ shrines in the cities of Northern Kurdistan and Afrin, and transferred the remains of the martyrs to other places.

According to the Mesopotamia Justice website report for the year 2022, during the period between September 17, 2015 and April 4, 2020, 1,644 shrines were completely destroyed and 2,926 other shrines were vandalized in Northern Kurdistan.

The occupiers continued their attacks between 2020 and 2022, destroying thousands of shrines in the shrines of Bakuk, Gudi, Dersim/Zak, Dersim/Mazkert, Sirt, Merdin, Eleh, Amed/Biran, Amed/Bismal, Amed/Farqin, Markaz Amed, Alkeh, and Hazakh. Wan, Ghafar, Hercule, Bitlis, Kars, Gulk/Kaneresh, Mosh/Malazker, Melti, Yeranshir, Perseus and Bazid.

The occupiers took the remains from the shrines of the Kharzan shrine in Bitlis and buried them under the sidewalks in the city of Istanbul.

After its occupation of Afrin in 2018, the Turkish occupation state destroyed the shrines of martyrs and construct buildings over them.
