Turkish warplanes destroy Newroz theater in Kobani

The Newroz Theater, which annually witnesses tens of thousands of Syrians celebrating around it, was completely destroyed as a result of it being targeted by Turkish warplanes on the 6th of this October.

ANHA correspondents were unable to reach the targeting site, with drones hovering over the city, especially since the site overlooks the Turkish bases on the other side of the border. The Turkish occupation targeted journalists last year in the same location after destroying the Corona Hospital, which led to the injury of 3 journalists.

This comes in conjunction with a speech delivered by Erdogan during the opening ceremony of the St. Ephrem Syriac Orthodox Church in the Yeşil Koy district of Istanbul, in which he said that "those who turn a blind eye to hate crimes unfortunately undermine the will for coexistence of different cultures in an atmosphere of peace".

Erdogan's statements come as his army launches an attack against vital infrastructure and facilities; Schools and cultural centers in NE Syria.
