Massive demonstrations launched throughout NE Syria

Today (October 9) marks the anniversary of the start of the international conspiracy against Leader Ocalan when he left Syria on this day in 1998, and marks the occupation attack launched by the Turkish occupation army on Serêkaniyê and Girê Spi.

To denounce the conspiracy, the occupation attack, and the attacks of the Turkish occupation army that have been ongoing and continuing since the 4th of this October, massive demonstrations were launched in 8 cities and regions in NE Syria, in the cities of Derik and Qamishlo, which belong to Qamishlo Canton in the Jazera region, and the city of Hasaka and Darbasiya district, which belong to Hasaka Canton in Jazera region, the city of Kobani in the Euphrates region, and the cities of Manbij, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, with the participation of people from all components of the region.

Participants in the demonstrations carried pictures of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, pictures of martyrs, flags of the TEV DEM, and banners bearing the slogan of the demonstrations, “With the unity of the peoples, we will defeat the attacks of Turkish fascism and release the leader Ocalan,” and other banners bearing, “We condemn the international silence regarding the Turkish attacks.” Banners demanding a no-fly zone in NE Syria.

At 12:00, another demonstration will begin in Aleppo, and at 15:30, another demonstration will take place in the Favin district of Shahba Canton, ending with the sit-in tent erected there.
