Thousands bid farewell to bodies of martyrs, Seyîd Evran, Aslan Qamishlo

Thousands of people from Qamishlo canton, with the participation of dozens from various regions of NE Syria, mourned the bodies of the two martyrs, Seyîd Evran who was martyred on September 22, and the leader of the People’s Protection Units, Aslan Qamishlo, who was martyred in an attack by the Turkish occupation state on the 17th. September to the shrine of Martyr Dalil Sarukhan.

The funeral procession started from the Antariya neighborhood with the participation of members of civil, social, media, military and security institutions, sheikhs and notables of the Arab and Kurdish tribes, representatives of the political parties in NE Syria, the Autonomous Administration, companions of the two martyrs, writers, intellectuals and clerics.

Upon the arrival of the mourners to the shrine, the funeral ceremony began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, followed by a speech by Shiro Sharo, the member of the Martyrs’ Families Council in Qamishlo.

He recalled all the martyrs of freedom in the person of the two martyrs, saying: “Today is a historic day for NE Syria, we bid farewell to valuable leaders and patriots. Today is Martyrs’ Day, and on the occasion of that, we remember Comrade Rustam Judi, Rokan, and Sarah, and we affirm that they will remain in our hearts, and every traitor who sold his honor will be held accountable.”

Sharo praised the struggle of the martyr Aslan within the revolution of NE Syria, saying: “The fighter Aslan was a leader in the Internal Security Forces at the beginning of the revolution, and an advisor to our revolution. He was able to protect the security of our children, our mothers, and the gains of our martyrs for many years”

In turn, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Movement TEV-DEM, Rokan Ahmed, affirmed, “As long as there is a people who rally around their martyrs in this way, this revolution will without a doubt reach its goal, because our party is the party of martyrs, so our people refused to submit to injustice and occupation.”

Ahmed stressed the importance of this day, and said: “Today is an important day in history, and a historic month because it is the month of martyrs and the struggle that began in the person of Kemal Pir and Khairy Durmuş against Turkish fascism, which sought to break the will of the Kurds, but the fighters of the philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan protected identity of the Kurds.”

Ahmed remembered the martyr Rustam Judi in the person of the two martyrs, and added: “On this day, we remember the great leader with the great thought who explained to us the philosophy of the democratic nation, and in his person we extend our condolences to our people.”

Rokan Ahmed continued: “We have always been a people attached to our martyrs, and today we rally around them. Then we must not allow traitors to live on our land. We are all responsible for that, and this is the duty of all of us."

She stressed at the conclusion of her speech that "a patriotic person bound to his land must not leave his homeland and face all forms of private war. We are confident in the strength of our people, and we must train our children on the basis of the principles of our martyrs and organize ourselves in the face of the strife that some parties seek to create between the people and the Autonomous Administration."

As for the journalist and companion on the path of the martyr Seyîd Evran,, Sterk Kulu, in a speech of the Free Media Union, she remembered all the martyrs of the freedom movement and the Rojava Revolution and the martyrs who sacrificed themselves in the march of truth in Kurdistan, and explained: “Talking about the martyrs is very difficult for us, as the martyr Seyîd has been my companion since 30 years, and the martyr Aslan for 25 years, and in your presence, talk about the martyrs will remain incomplete.”

Kulu recalled the martyr Seyîd Evran, saying: “ He loved the people of Rojava, Bakur, Rajahlat, and Başûr very much, and he was the son of the Hina district, which rose up against darkness through Sheikh Saeed’s revolution. He said that his grandfather fought the struggle while he walked with Sheikh Saeed, and I am grandson of my grandfather, I have to be liberated."

She stressed that the free media has lost a great memory, over the course of 24 years he made great sacrifices in the field of media, “With our pen and our weapons we must always revive it, and with great love and determination we pledge to our martyrs that we will continue their path and always carry their weapons.”

In conclusion, document of the martyrs Seyîd Afran and Aslan Qamishlo was read and handed over to their comrades who carried the bodies of martyrs on their shoulders to be buried in the shrine of the martyr Dalil Sarukhan.
