Talabani and Al-Maliki call on Iraqi government to assume its responsibilities
The Kurdistan Democratic Union and the State of Law Coalition in Iraq called on the Iraqi government to assume its responsibilities and put an end to the Turkish state’s violations of Iraq’s sovereignty on the ground and in the air.
The head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafil Talabani, met today, in Baghdad, with the head of the State of Law coalition in Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki, Roj News Agency reported.
During the meeting, the 2 sides discussed the latest political developments, the attack on Arbat Airport in Sulaymaniyah, the problems between Hewler and Baghdad, and the salaries of employees in Başûr Kurdistan. The need for coordination and cooperation between political parties was emphasized in order to overcome challenges and solve problems on the basis of the constitution in a way that guarantees the rights of all.
The attack launched by a Turkish drone on Arbat Airport in Sulaymaniyah last Monday was condemned by both parties, and the Iraqi government was called upon to fulfill its constitutional duties, put an end to Turkish violations, and not leave any pretext for penetrating the skies and lands of the country.
