The Manbij Military Council, with the participation of tribal sheikhs and notables, made a statement to public opinion about the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on Manbij and its countryside.

The statement was delivered in the square of the Manbij Military Council in the center of the city by the Commander-in-Chief of the Council, Muhammad Abu Adel, in the presence of male and female members of the Manbij Military Council, the al-Bab Military Council, the Jaysh al-Thuwwar, the Kurdish Front, and tribal sheikhs and notables.

The text of the statement read:

“After the Syrian Democratic Forces launched an operation to strengthen security in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells, and against the mercenary groups coming from outside the region to endanger its security and the safety of its people, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries took advantage of the Syrian Democratic Forces’ preoccupation with the operation, and launched continuous attacks on Different areas of (Manbij, Ain Issa, Tal Abyad, Tal Tamr, and Zerghan), and they escalated their attacks further after the “Security Enhancement” operation was crowned with success.

The statement added: “The primary goal of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries’ escalation of these attacks is to support the mercenary groups and terrorists in Deir ez-Zor and mitigate them, and to destabilize the security and stability of Manbij and NE, Syria, and to seek to incite strife and divide their components. The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries used all dirty means, especially the media war.” To undermine the will of our people and the resistance of our fighters, all types of heavy weapons were also used in these attacks, which left civilian casualties and caused massive destruction to their property and infrastructure in the areas affected by barbaric missile and artillery bombardment.

Despite the scale of the attacks, their large targeting of safe areas inhabited by civilians, and the martyrdom of children and women, our brave fighters in the Manbij Military Council resisted with unparalleled valor and demonstrated the most amazing heroics against those attacks. They were able to thwart all of them and did not allow the mercenaries to advance even a single inch.”

The Manbij Military Council confirmed that their forces “inflicted heavy losses on their ranks, as at least 52 mercenaries were killed, 109 others were wounded, 9 military vehicles were destroyed, 5 civilians were martyred and 4 others were wounded by the mercenaries.” In addition to kidnapping two civilians from the village of "Al-Mohsenli", our forces also seized a large amount of weapons and ammunition that the mercenaries left behind.

Among the dead mercenaries were members of the terrorist organization ISIS and Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly the Jabhet al-Nusra, as they were confirmed by the insignia of the terrorist organization that they carried on their clothes.

After the mercenaries were forced to flee after their defeat, after our forces confronted and thwarted all the attacks, and the inability of the occupation and its mercenaries to achieve any progress; They resorted to using treacherous tactics against our fellow fighters, as they treacherously and cowardly targeted the car of the member of the Military Relations Office of the Manbij Military Council, the combat comrade “Bozan Othman,” which led to his martyrdom.

The statement recalled "the sacrifices of our fighters and their valor in resisting the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and teaching them lessons in heroism and sacrifice. We extend our sincere thanks to our people in Manbij and their bravery standing by our forces and their moral support for us."

In the statement, the Manbij Military Council also expressed its gratitude to "our indigenous clans that contributed to thwarting the plans of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and confronting them. We also value the role of the Manbij youth who joined the resistance fronts against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and fought alongside our military forces and were an example of youth who are jealous of the dignity and pride of its people and in the resistance shown by our fighters, /3/ of our fighters were martyred, and /6/ others were wounded.

The Manbij Military Council ended its statement by saying: "We, in the Manbij Military Council and the forces defending the region and its countryside from the" Jaysh al-Thuwwar, the Kurdish Front, the Democratic Northern Brigade and the al-Bab Military Council", reaffirm our commitment to our people and our martyrs to remain the strong fortress and the watchful eye that protects security. And the stability of our region, and we preserve the dignity and freedom of its people against anyone who tries to tamper with it or destabilize their security and stability, and we are all confident that Manbij and all NE, Syria will remain free, safe and stable thanks to the sacrifices of its people."
