The rally of the people of the region, from various social and political strata, around the Autonomous Administration and the security and protection forces, contributed to cutting off the strife that external parties and criminal elements sought to create in Deir ez-Zor.

In this context, a number of sheikhs and notables of Tal Hamis district of Qamishlo canton called for a rally around the Autonomous Administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces.

Sheikh Ali Al-Hafel, sheikh of the Al-Sada clan, said, “Behind the current events in Deir ez-Zor are external hands, first and foremost the Turkish occupation state and the Baathist regime, by moving their existing agendas in the region to attack the security and stability of the region, and to dismantle the cohesion between the Kurdish and Arab components.”

'A plan to thwart the democratic nation's project'

Al-Hafel added: “What we see today on the Syrian scene, especially in the Deir ez-Zor region, is considered a plan in which some countries participate seeking to thwart the democratic nation project, and we consider them enemies of humanity and the freedom of the free people. The democratic nation project is the only solution to the stability of the regions of NE, Syria, which was and still is stumbling block in the face of enemies.

Al-Hafel continued his speech by saying: "We have been and still are brothers for thousands of years: the Kurds, the Arabs and the Christians, and we call on the Arab tribes in Deir ez-Zor to resort to reason and not be drawn in by the interveners and external parties, and not to allow the raising of weapons."

'The Arab tribes do not accept this act'

At the conclusion of his speech, Al-Hafel stressed that the Arab tribes, whether in Tal Hamis or in the regions of NE, Syria, do not accept this act. “We reject any external interference that affects the security and stability of the region, and calls for sowing discord among the Arab tribes and clans against the Syrian Democratic Forces. We are with The Syrian Democratic Forces, which provided many martyrs in order for the people of Syria to enjoy security and stability, and fought the most powerful organization in the world, the terrorist organization ISIS, which major countries were unable to do."

A call to rally around the Syrian Democratic Forces

The notable of the Tufihiyin clan, Saleh Sheikh Haloush, said: “The events that took place in Deir ez-Zor have nothing to do with the members of the tribes in Deir ez-Zor. Rather, there are those who follow external agendas, which are politicized subversive groups whose goal is to sow discord between the tribes and clans, and their members are in the military forces.”

Haloush appealed to "all Arab tribes and clans in Deir ez-Zor not to be drawn into what is being planned to restore ISIS in the region and not to participate in the bloodshed of the people of Syria."

In conclusion, Saleh Sheikh Haloush called on all sheikhs, notables, and people of Deir ez-Zor, “for everyone to resort to reason and rally around our military forces to undermine any plan hatched against the region.”
