Within the "Security Enhancement" operation, the SDF finished clearing the village of Hawaij and large parts of the village of Al-Tayana and the town of Thabain in Deir ez-Zor.

According to the Director of the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Farhad Shami; The military operation against ISIS cells, mercenaries, and other criminal armed groups is still continuing in the Thabain town, which includes the villages of Hawaij and Al-Tayana, and the coming hours are the hours of decisive battle in the center of Thabain town, in light of the mercenaries fleeing to the West Bank of the Euphrates River.

Shami confirmed that 18 mercenaries were killed in the villages of Thabain town and some neighborhoods of the center of the town, and that their forces arrested 4 mercenaries from the National Defense.

On the 27th of last August, the SDF launched the "Security Enhancement" operation, and said through a statement that the operation targets ISIS mercenary cells, drug dealers and outlaw, but it expanded during the first 72 hours of the operation to target, according to SDF statements, Nawaf al-Bashir's cells that began to enter the targeted area from the other side of the river.
