On the 27th of last August, the Syrian Democratic Forces launched in the areas of Deir ez-Zor and the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, the "Strengthening Security" operation against ISIS sleeper cells and drug networks, and as soon as the ongoing operation began on its eighth day, many groups and parties hostile to the administration rushed to try to stir up strife among the people of the region.

In the same context, the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries launched direct attacks on Manbij and Tal Tamr.

Meetings in Afrin, Azaz, Jarabulus, Al-Bab and Serêkaniyê

According to the information we obtained from reliable sources, the Turkish occupation state held in "Afrin, Azaz, Jarabulus, al-Bab and Serêkaniyê" during the past July and August a series of meetings with mercenaries and some local clans.

Last August, the Turkish intelligence service held a meeting with 400 dissidents from the Damascus government in the town of Hawar Kilis, which is affiliated to Azaz, north of Aleppo governorate, and started training them. The sources reported that they would be deployed on the border and given money in exchange for that.

In July, a Turkish military and intelligence delegation visited the occupied "Serêkaniyê" area and held a meeting with the local clans in the village of Qattina. During this meeting, they asked them to communicate with their relatives and clan members in the occupied territories and the Washokani and Al-Tala'i camps and support them.

Communication with sleeper cells and pressure on clans

In the same context, on July 11, the Turkish intelligence services held several meetings with mercenaries in many regions and asked them to strengthen their dealings and relations with ISIS sleeper cells. These meetings also discussed the issue of smuggling and the spread of drugs that they seek to increase in the areas of the Autonomous Administration.

The Turkish occupation state held other meetings with some clans in the occupied regions, such as "Serêkaniyê, Girê Spî, Jarabulus and Al-Bab", in the middle of last August, and pressured them to communicate with their relatives in the Autonomous Administration areas such as Deir ez-Zor, Hasaka and Raqqa, and incited them to AANES, in addition to their attempt promoting the ethnic conflict between the Kurds and the Arabs, claiming that the Kurds are attacking the Arabs, and threatening those who oppose these demands.

On August 21, a meeting was held with 100 mercenary leaders in the Turkish city of Kilis, and Turkish officials asked the mercenaries in this meeting to prepare for war and attacks.

Attempts after the launch of the security operation

After these plans and attempts, mercenary activity increased, especially in the regions of Deir ez-Zor and the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, so the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces, which is closely following the situation, launched the "Security Enhancement" operation.

On the fourth day of the operation, some military and intelligence sources provided ANHA agency with information stating that the mercenaries attacking the Syrian Democratic Forces in Deir ez-Zor received their orders directly from the occupied areas.

On the first of this month, i.e. the sixth day of the Syrian Democratic Forces operation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish occupation issued a statement claiming: "These developments are due to the attempts of the terrorist organization, which is putting pressure on the Syrian people; We hope that the forces that support them will take this into account".

ISIS sleeper cells that have relations with the occupied areas sought to act in accordance with the content of the meetings held by the Turkish occupation state in the occupied areas, and its statements to create chaos and unrest in the region, and the mercenaries in Deir ez-Zor mentioned in video scenes they filmed in front of an ISIS flag these demands of the occupiers.

As the mercenaries who read the text in their hands say: "We call on the fighters of the state of goodness (Al-Jazera and Deir ez-Zor) to support their brothers from the clans against the Kurds. Your sisters and brothers in Roj Camp and Al-Hol are calling on you to wake up from your negligence and rise up, and the Islamic world and Islamic cities will witness great changes in the future, and the new century will witness many transformations, so prepare well for this stage.

Regardless of the current tensions, the operation of the Syrian Democratic Forces thwarted many plans, so the Turkish occupation state escalated its attacks on Manbij, Tal Tamr, Ain Issa and the southern countryside of Girê Spî). Observers point out that the occupation seeks, with these attacks, to thwart the security operation.
