SDF captures ISIS mercenary in Hasakah countryside

The Syrian Democratic Forces arrested an ISIS mercenary, seized weapons and military equipment from him, and indicated that he was active in smuggling and supplying weapons to ISIS mercenaries.

According to what was published by the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces, the mercenary was arrested in the town of Al-Dashisha in the countryside of Al-Shaddadi district, south of Al-Hasakah, during an operation conducted in cooperation with the International Coalition Forces and the Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region (CTG).

The Media Center indicated that it was seized in possession of weapons and military equipment, and the text of the published news read:

"Within the framework of the process of "Security Enhancement" launched by our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, to combat the remaining remnants of the cells of the terrorist organization "ISIS", and to fight the elements that violate public security and spread chaos in Deir ez-Zor, the Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) of our forces, in cooperation with Yesterday, Friday, the first of September, the International Coalition Forces and the Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (CTG) conducted a precise security operation, targeting the arrest of a member of the terrorist organization “ISIS” cells in the town of “Al-Dashisha” affiliated to “Al-Shaddadi”, south of Al-Hasakah.

The operation took place with the support and air control of the International Coalition Forces, during which our units were able to surround the terrorist's whereabouts and arrest him.

The arrested terrorist was active in smuggling and supplying weapons to the terrorist organization “ISIS”.

During the operation, a number of weapons and military equipment that he was in possession of were confiscated, as follows:

1 - Kalashnikov weapon number /1/.

2 - Kalashnikov magazines, number /5/.

3 - Smart phones / 2 /.

4 - Hand grenades, number /3/.

Our forces affirm that they will continue their operations against the terrorist organization, by directing severe blows to it to eradicate it from all regions of northern and eastern Syria, and to establish security and stability in it.”
