SDF: eight security operations killed four mercenaries, arrested twelve

SDF's Media Center confirmed for ANHA agencythat  within the framework of the ongoing operations of SDF against ISIS mercenary cells, the Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) and the commandos of the Syrian Democratic Forces, with the participation and cooperation of the International Coalition Forces and the (CTG), carried out 8 joint security operations during the past 35 days.

The joint military operations started from July 19, 2023, until August 24:

On July 19, an ISIS cell consisting of 3 mercenaries was targeted in the northern countryside of Deir al-Zor, killing two mercenaries and arresting another.

During which the forces confiscated:

Two Infinix phones.

Two Kalashnikovs with 8 magazines.

9/16 pistol with three magazines.

Two grenades.

Pumpaction shotgun.

On June 20, the forces targeted an ISIS cell in the town of Mansoura in Raqqa, which resulted in the arrest of 3 mercenaries, and confiscated weapons and communication equipment.

On August 4, the forces targeted Al-Izba, north of Deir al-Zor, which led to the arrest of a leader of ISIS mercenaries.

During which the forces confiscated:

A number of secret papers of ISIS mercenaries and cells.

2 electronic communication devices.

Kalashnikov weapon.

On August 12, the forces arrested two people collaborating with ISIS mercenaries in the northern countryside of Deir al-Zor. In which the forces confiscated:

6 smartphones and one primitive phone.

foreign SIMs

5 document storage containers.

Day and night binoculars.

On August 16, the forces eliminated a leader of ISIS mercenaries, called "Ibrahim al-Ali," the so-called "Abu Mujahid, the general emir in the eastern region."

During which the forces confiscated:

3 smart phones.

AKS, 7 magazines and ammo.

1 laptop and router.

On August 16, the forces arrested one mercenary, and eliminated another in a new operation in the northern countryside of Deir al-Zor.

During operation the forces confiscated:

Kalashnikov with 5 magazines and a quiver.

Pistol quiver.

3 smartphones.

Some important papers and documents are related to cell movements.

On August 18, the forces arrested in Al-Izba area, north of Deir al-Zor, in a quick and surprising operation, an ISIS mercenary working as a monitor.

During which the forces confiscated:

A black Jeep Freecruise.

2 contact phones.

Some papers and documents related to identifying points of military forces in the region.

On August 24, the forces arrested a cell of ISIS mercenaries consisting of 3 mercenaries, who were working to collect funds to finance the terrorist operations of the mercenaries in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zor.

Yesterday (August 27, 2023) the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces launched an operation in the Deir al-Zor region and the eastern bank of the Euphrates River, under the name of "Security Reinforcement"to pursue ISIS cells based on the efforts of continuous communication between the General Command of our forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the notables and sheikhs of the clans, especially the recent meetings and the resulting recommendations and demands on the need to pursue terrorist cells and dry up their sources, Our forces launched this operation."

Since the beginning of this year until now, ISIS mercenaries have carried out 89 planned attacks in the Deir al-Zor region, which resulted in the martyrdom of 14 citizens, 32 members of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria, and fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces, while Hasaka witnessed 12 attacks, which led to  the martyrdom of 4 members of the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces.
