​​​​​​​Israeli raids on Damascus causes casualties

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the killing of 2 members, who are not known yet whether they were of Syrian nationality, by Israeli targeting of military sites southwest and southeast of the capital, Damascus.

For its part, an agency affiliated with the Damascus government reported that "a soldier was injured and material damage occurred, as a result of an Israeli aggression that targeted points in the vicinity of Damascus".

The agency said, quoting a military source, that "at approximately 11:55 pm today (yesterday), the Israeli enemy carried out a guided missile attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Damascus".

The missiles targeted sites a few kilometers from Damascus International Airport and the vicinity of the Kiswa area, and the targeting led to the destruction of a site in the Kiswa area and a site containing vehicles near the airport.

The Observatory indicated that Israeli missiles targeted at least 3 sites of the Damascus government forces, including warehouses and military sites for the Lebanese "Hezbollah" forces and Iranian groups, 2 of them in the vicinity of Kiswa in the countryside of Damascus and a site in the southeastern region of the capital.

Thus, the observatory has counted during the year 2023, 23 times during which Israel targeted the Syrian territories. These strikes resulted in the injury and destruction of about 52 targets, including weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, and centers.

These strikes killed 59 soldiers, in addition to injuring 61 others, including 24 of the Damascus government forces.

The targets were distributed as: 10 for Damascus and its countryside, 6 for Quneitra, 1 for Hama, 2 for Tartous, 3 for Aleppo, 3 for Al-Suwayda, 2 for Daraa, and 3 for Homs.

It is noteworthy that Israel targets more than one area at a time.
