Salih Muslim: Turkey will withdraw as our unity, struggle

Saleh Muslim commented on the statements made by Bashar al-Assad to Sky News Arabia, in which he said: "Erdogan's goal is to legitimize the presence of the Turkish occupation in Syria, so why do Erdogan and I meet?! In order to have refreshments, for example?"

Muslim pointed out that these statements are not sufficient to expel Turkey from the Syrian territories and said: "However, the Damascus government does not have any power or ability to take a decision, as the dominant powers are witnessing a conflict over Syria, and it seems that these dominant powers did not agree on Turkey's exit from the Syrian territories, and it does not care about that, because Iran has interests with Turkey, and that is why it now does not support the issue of Turkey's exit, whereas Russia wants to implement its plans with Turkey, and the international coalition does not want to upset Turkey, its ally in NATO.

"I don't expect Damascus to take a concrete step."

Muslim stated that he does not expect Damascus to take any tangible or practical step to expel Turkey, "They agreed in Sochi that Turkey and its mercenaries open the M4/M5 road, but that has not happened so far. Turkey and its mercenaries impose their conditions, so it is difficult to expel it from Syrian territory.

Salih Muslim stressed the inability of the Damascus government to move on its own or take any steps on its own, and continued his speech, saying: "They do not agree with what Turkey says, but they do not stop holding meetings with it as well, and during the Astana meeting they took decisions against the Autonomous Administration, Turkey, Russia, Syria and Iran, so do they demand that Turkey leave Syria? No, they do not. Russia is working to hold a meeting between Erdogan and Bashar, as it seeks rapprochement between them."

Muslim, stated that Turkey has no intention to withdraw from the Syrian lands, on the contrary, it is striving to occupy new areas, and continued his speech, saying: "Now another map is being drawn for the Turkmens, that is, they seek to establish a state for the Turkmens in NE Syria.

The occupied territories have become a stronghold for mercenaries, and Turkey is using terrorism as a blackmail card against the world.

The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Salih Muslim, indicated that the expulsion of Turkey from the Syrian lands will not be achieved unless the issue is seriously addressed. "The issue is complex, and we can only expel the Turks from here with our unity and struggle, he added.
