Amina Ossi: We must be aware of jeopardy of the forced return of refugees

The deputy co-chair of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Amina Ossi, refuted the allegations of the Turkish occupation state about the voluntary return of Syrian refugees, and said: "The Turkish occupation state claims that the Syrians are returning voluntarily, and this is baseless."

After the Turkish elections on May 28, the occupying state began the process of deporting Syrian refugees and mercenary families to the areas it occupies, especially in Afrin, Girê Spî and Serêkaniyê, and has so far deported thousands of families and people, including Iraqis.

Amina Ossi explained: "Since the beginning of the crisis, the Turkish occupation state has shown that it is the compassionate heart of the Syrians during the ongoing wars in Syria, and has shown itself to be the protector of the Syrians from the regime and others."

She added, "Turkey, during the past years of the Syrian war, used the humanitarian file and the Syrian refugee file, and blackmailed European countries and humanitarian organizations with it, to achieve its ambitions in Syria."

And she noted: "Turkey used the refugee file as a pressure card to occupy the Syrian regions, and claimed that it wanted to settle the refugees and secure a place for them, and earned a lot of money; in fact, it used it for its occupation and expansionist goals and to achieve its ambitions in Syria."

The Autonomous Administration is not against the return of the Syrians

Amnia Ossi confirmed that the Autonomous Administration is not against the return of Syrians to their country, if they find stability and security with certainty, then their return is right, and she said: "As part of the Autonomous Administration's initiative to solve the Syrian crisis, the Autonomous Administration confirmed that it is ready to receive refugees wherever they are in Turkey or in other countries."

Amina Ossi warned of the danger of the Turkish occupation state's project and said: "The demographic change in the long run will be a reason for the existence of permanent conflict, and the seriousness of this issue is not insignificant, and there will be continuous conflicts and strife because of the policy that Turkey follows, and Turkey will exploit these conflicts in its favor to be the guardian of these areas."

International powers should focus on the seriousness of demographic change

Amina Ossi stressed the need for deterrent responses to the process of demographic change that Turkey is conducting by international organizations and parties concerned with the Syrian crisis, and said: "Turkey repeats this process from time to time to make demographic change in the region a natural process without any obstacles in front of it. Turkey is returning refugees compulsorily, not voluntarily, as it claim."

Amina Ossi stressed the need for international powers and human rights organizations to realize the danger of the forced return of refugees for the purpose of bringing about demographic change in the region, and to pay attention to the long-term danger of demographic change and its impact on stability and security throughout Syria.
