National Alliance: Perpetrators of Tal Hasel, Arran massacre must be held accountable

On the tenth anniversary of the massacre of Tal Hasel and Tel Arran in 2013, the National Democratic Alliance party denounced the massacre, and demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable.

Today, the National Democratic Alliance Party made a statement, denouncing the massacre of Tal Hasel and Tal Arran, after dozens of party members and members gathered in front of their center located in Wahshiyya village of Fafin district in Al-Shahba canton.

The statement was read in Arabic by party member Omar Khalousi.

The statement read: "Every year we remember the painful massacre that was committed against our people in Tel Arran and Tel Hasel, so we call on the international community to hold those involved in the massacre accountable."

It added, "Martyrs' mothers, wives, and children feel of sadness, oppression, and sorrow, as they see the perpetrators free, whether in or out of Syria"

The statement criticized the failure to prosecute the perpetrators of the massacre, saying: "Despite the fact-finding committee's condemnation of the massacre and the definition of its perpetrators since 2014, no international body has yet moved to prosecute the criminals."

It added: "On the tenth anniversary of the massacre, we restore the memory of resistance and pride for the youth who faced the arsenal of ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra and their partners from the factions and their supporters with their individual weapons. They resisted the hordes of aggressors despite the unequal numbers and equipment, and they showed unparalleled courage and heroism through which they spread terror in the hearts of the aggressors."

The Party referred to the reasons for the massacre, and stated, "The massacre was committed under direct orders from Turkish intelligence and in coordination with Abdul-Jabbar al-Akidi, head of the Military Council of the Free Army in Aleppo. At that time, they met in Gaziantep on March 24, 2013 with the rest of the factions, and took orders, and carried them."

The statement called on "the human rights and humanitarian bodies and the relevant United Nations institutions to work to refer the file to the International Tribunal and to put pressure on Turkey and hold it accountable for its crimes in Syria.

It should be noted that Tal Hasel and Tal Arran witnessed battles and massacres on July 27-28-29, 2013, by Jabhat al-Nusra mercenaries and their affiliates, which claimed the lives of nearly 50 citizens.
