last session of International Forum asserts on Autonomous Administration as alternative to nation-states

In the continuation of the work of the International Forum on the Treaty of Lausanne, which started its activities since yesterday morning, in the city of Hasaka, with the participation of 150 members and political figures in NE Syria and from Kurdistan and the world, the works of the sixth session ended.

In the session, titled "Transcending Lausanne and the Optimal Solution," which moderated by the member of the coordinators of the Women's Council in North and East Syria, Esteer Qassem, the participants discussed the project of the democratic nation and the model of Autonomous Administration.

The focus of the first session came under the title "The Democratic Nation as a Way to Solve the Kurdish Issue and Peaceful and Democratic Coexistence with Other Peoples", as a lecture given by the administrator at the Center for Community Diplomacy in North and East Syria, Norshan Hussein.

Norshan Hussein touched on the theoretical, philosophical and ethical foundations on which the democratic nation relies, and said: "Not only the Kurds were victims of this agreement, it turned out that all the peoples present in this region were victims of this agreement."

She added, "The theory of the democratic nation pursued by the leader Abdullah Ocalan is an alternative to the nation-state and chauvinism, and there are sentences confirming that there is no state that carries within it democracy, as the leader Ocalan said that the state in its essence is obliterating democracy and building something at the expense of the freedom of its people, and in the Middle East the state It has become a tool to besiege societies and put them in a large prison, and a tool to provoke wars, and there is a crisis of identity that exists within states, and they cannot find a personality worthy of them, and here we can call that the state itself is a crisis.

For his part, the deputy co-presidency of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Hamdan al-Abed, highlighted in the second axis the reasons for establishing the Autonomous Administration, and the difference between the Autonomous Administration and the existing administration models, and the model of nation-states.

Al-Abed introduced the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, its organizational form, how to manage the region, and the participants in it, saying: "The Autonomous Administration was established by a group of forces, parties, and societal activities to find a ground for social and economic solidarity, in addition to the reconstruction and organization of society, and to ensure the return of refugees and contribute effectively to the political process.

The participants stressed, through several interventions that the model of Autonomous Administration is a guarantee of rights of peoples, especially the Kurdish and Middle Eastern peoples.

The sixth and final session ended with honoring the lecturers, session directors and a number of the forum's guests, as an appreciation for their efforts and for their participation in the forum, represented by presenting shields bearing the map of Kurdistan.

It is expected that the participants in the International Forum on Lausanne, titled "Lausanne: Correcting Paths and Issues of Regional Stability and Security", will come out with a final statement that includes a set of proposals and visions to build on in the future, according to the forum's preparatory committee.
