Al-Shahba People protest against Turkish attacks, Russia's complicity

Thousands of people from Afrin and al-Shahba cantons, families of martyrs, members of civil institutions and unions, and representatives of political parties gathered today at the junction of al-Wahshiya village of Favin district in al-Shahba canton to demonstrate against Russia's inaction pertaining to the Turkish occupation state's attacks.

The protesters carried banners reading, "The ill-fatedz aAdana Agreement is a violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian state," and "No to the Russian-Turkish understandings at the expense of Syrian blood," and "The inaction of the Russian state over killing us is a disgrace," and "Turkey is killing us. Syria surrounds us," and "No to the Turkish occupation", and "The Russian guarantor is failing the people of Afrin again", and they set out for the Russian reconciliation center in the village of al-Wahshiya in the Favin district of al-Shahba canton, amid chanting slogans denouncing the Russian complicity with the Turkish occupation in targeting the people.

Upon the arrival of the crowds of people to the Russian Reconciliation Center, a delegation was formed, including the co-chair of the Afrin and al-Shahba canton council, Malak al-Hussein, the deputy of the council, Jamal Rashid, and the co-chair of the diplomatic relations committee in the council, Mustafa Shan to deliver the letter of the people of the canton to the leadership of the center.

The letter included denouncing Russia's cahoots with the Turkish occupation in targeting the people of the region.

The letter referred to the repetition of such policies against the people of Afrin canton during the past years, where Russia has violated all promises to protect the region from targeting that led to the martyrdom of dozens of people, the occupation of their land and the demographic change. "If Russia continues its policies against the people of the region, they will take appropriate measures," the letter emphasized.

After that, the member of the delegation, Jamal Rashid, spoke about their meeting with senior officials of the Russian Reconciliation Center, who confirmed that they had delivered the letter to the leaders at the Hmeimim base.

The demonstration ended with chanting slogans that glorify the resistance and the sacrifices of the martyrs, and denounce Russia's complicity with the Turkish occupation.

Yesterday, a Turkish occupation drone targeted a car in the Ahadath area of the Aleppo countryside, three fighters were martyred from the People's Protection Units and two wounded on the road between the village of Maaratah and the Ahadath district.

This is the first targeting of its kind, as the targeting site is close to the center of the city of Aleppo, which is only 15 km away, and 38 km from the Turkish border.
