SDF arrest 8 mercenaries in 4 security operations

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces reported, through a written statement today, that the commandos and special units of the Syrian Democratic Forces have carried out four security operations during the past days that targeted cells of ISIS mercenaries in the countryside of Tel Hamis, Deir Ezzor, Manbij and Hasakah, where the forces arrested eight ISIS mercenaries. During the past period, they have been active in "terrorist acts and facilitating the work of terrorist cells in the region."

Tel Hamis

The center explained: "In the village of Belqis of Tal Hamis, the commandos of the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested two active members of the terrorist organization ISIS, who were involved during the last period in facilitating the movements of terrorist cells and securing logistical support for them, in addition to collecting the intelligence information is in favor of the terrorist organization. The forces also seized a quantity of weapons and documents in the possession of the terrorist cell."

Deir ez-Zor

Regarding a security operation carried out by the SDF in Deir ez-Zor, the statement explained: "In the town of Al-Tayana, east of Deir ez-Zor, the special units of our forces carried out a security operation in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, targeting a terrorist cell, with the support of the International Coalition, during which they arrested a member of The terrorist organization ISIS has been active during the last period in the field of financing the organization and transferring “zakat” funds to the active cells in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

It added, "Our forces surrounded the whereabouts of the cell member, who fled, and was monitored from the air by the international coalition planes to be arrested and confiscated documents and money in his possession, in addition to technical equipment."

Manbij and Al-Hasakah

As for the two operations carried out in Manbij and the countryside of Hasakah, the statement indicated: "Our forces carried out two security operations in the city of Manbij and the countryside of Hasakah, during the past two days. About the arrest of /3/ members of the terrorist organization, including a woman, and our forces seized a silencer pistol and an explosive device in their possession.

It added, "While in the second operation, our forces ambushed a cell affiliated with the terrorist organization ISIS in the village of Tumin in the town of al-Shadadi in the southeastern countryside of Hasakah, during which they were able to arrest a terrorist cell consisting of two terrorist elements, and they seized A quantity of weapons and military equipment, and they were preparing themselves to launch attacks on our forces. The two arrested members hold Syrian nationality, and they pledged allegiance to the terrorist organization earlier, and they were active in filming military and service sites in the area."
