KDP closes Semalka border crossing again

The administration of the Faysh Khabur crossing (opposite to the Semalka crossing in Rojava) and located in Başûr (southern Kurdistan) closed, without notifying the administration of the Semalka crossing, and without giving reasons.

Today, May 11, the KDP authorities closed the Faysh Khabour border crossing, separating the regions of NE Syria and southern Kurdistan, without notifying the Semalka crossing administration.

The manager of relations at the Semalka crossing Baz Ahmed said, in a phone call to ANHA correspondent, that the crossing is completely closed by a decision of the administration of the Faysh Khabur crossing from the south of Kurdistan, without informing them of the reasons for the closure.

This is not the first time that the crossing has been closed by the authorities of the Kurdistan Democratic Party; In late 2021, the KDP authorities closed the crossing to humanitarian and medical cases and in general for a period of 40 days.
