YRA sends congratulatory telegram on Kurdish Press Day

YRA's congratulatory telegram was published on its the official page, which stated: “The Kurdish press celebrates today, April 22, its 125th birthday, when Prince Miqdad Medhat Badrakhan published the first issue of the newspaper “Kurdistan” in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on April 22, 1898. This is the first step in the history of modern Kurdish journalism, and an important turning point in the history of the Kurdish people.

The telegram added “Kurdistan newspaper has become the gateway that opened the way for many newspapers and magazines to appear throughout Kurdistan and in various fields, and the first Kurdish satellite channel was opened under the name of MED TV in 1995, and then there were many media outlets that contributed to the spreading of Kurdish culture and civilization .

YRA recalled all the journalists of  NE Syria, who were martyred to be the voice of truth.

YRA congratulated the general Kurdish people, journalists and media workers - especially in the regions of NE Syria - wishing them "constant progress, luck and success to be the voice and mirror of society, and contribute to delivering their noble message to the whole world."
