​​​​​​​Participants in Yazidi New Year's celebration praise AANES's initiative

Today, the celebration of Red Wednesday - the Yazidi New Year was organized in the village of Doker in Amuda district of Qamishlo canton, by the Yazidi House in Jazera region.

Figures from the Democratic Autonomous Administration in al-Jazera region, political parties, civil institutions, and women's movements and organizations participated in the celebration.

The celebration began with observing a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs and the presentation of religious hymns by the children of the Lalish band.

Then, the co-chair of the Yazidi House in the Jazera region, Laila Mahmo, delivered a speech in which she welcomed the attendees. The co-chair of the Yazidi House in the Jazera region, Suleiman Hamo pointed to the specificity of the Red Wednesday by saying: “Each religion has its own belief, however the Yazidi community differs from that, as it has a truth and a philosophy.Therefore, Yezidiism is closer to science than other religions, and this is what distinguishes it.

Hamo praised the role of the Autonomous Administration in preserving the rights of all components and societies, saying: "For 11 years we have been celebrating this holiday of freedom and democracy under the democratic Autonomous Administration and our military forces that protected the Yazidi community to live in peace and freedom."

He stressed, "We, the Yazidi community, always emphasize that our hands are extended to all other components, so that we can live together in peace."

The Autonomous Administration initiative protects the rights of all religions

The co-chair of TEV-DEM, Gharib Hasso, delivered a speech in which he blessed the Yazidi community and every person who struggles to protect this religion, historical values and culture, all freedom fighters, women activists, and leader Ocalan.

He noted the importance of this feast for the Yazidi community, saying: "This feast has great historical meanings from the beginning of humanity until today, this feast also has great national meanings in addition to its religious meanings."

"The Yazidi community faced many difficulties, but with the exit of the Kurdistan Freedom Movement in the person of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, this community was resurrected, and it lives with all other components and societies within the principles and values of coexistence and brotherhood of peoples," Hesso added.

Hasso confirmed their support for the initiative to solve the Syrian crisis launched by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and said: "The truth of a reasonable and real political solution lies in this initiative that preserves the right, culture and religion of every person, it is the ideal solution to the Syrian crisis and the Middle East."

At the end of the celebration, the Yazidi House in the Jazera region was honored by the Tabqa Civil Council.

The celebration include a musical performance by the (The Martyr Ezda), and the artists Danish Botan, Baran Delbahar and Aibo, alongside presenting "The School of Rioters" play by the Theater School troupe,and another play by the Baffy Tayyar troupe, along with dance performance by the bands (Lalesh and Ezda).
