​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Freedom Movement: Turkey's ecocide in Kurdistan must be stopped

The 16th of April coincides with the Environment Day in Kurdistan, and on this occasion the Environment Committee of the Kurdistan Community Freedom Movement (Freedom Movement) issued a statement, explaining that despite dedicating April 16th as Environment Day in Kurdistan, and the declaration of organizations concerned with environmental affairs on this day, that the world's environment is being destroyed day after day because of capitalists, profits, and the mentality of occupation and war, and that the world is approaching a catastrophe.

The movement's statement read: "As the Environmental Committee of the Freedom Movement, in addition to our priority of attention to this day, we have a philosophy of protecting the environment, which is defined as one of the principles of the democratic autonomous administration system. The world's environment is in danger of being destroyed, and the only way to protect humanity from this danger is to implement the philosophy and system proposed by Leader Apo to the world."

The movement's statement added, "Kurdistan is the first environment for the start of human life, and unfortunately Kurdistan is facing destruction and looting of its environment, and its being carried out by the Turkish state. The brutal Turkish state has launched thousands of tons of banned bombs on Kurdistan in the past few years and destroyed dozens of historical places, cutting down and looting hundreds of thousands of olive and berry trees, incendiary bombs destroyed thousands of trees and cut off hundreds of water sources.

And the movement stated in its statement, "This fact reveals to us better the recommendations of Leader Apo in protection in the best way, and must put an end to environmental violations at the global level, the environmental genocide that the Turkish state is carrying out in Kurdistan must also be stopped, so we hope that the authorities, countries, environmental organizations and people who want a clean life will do their responsibilities towards the environment.
