KRC distributes food baskets to needy families

Initiatives and aid continue in NE Syria on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.

In this context, the Kurdish Red Crescent launched today the "Hope in Your Giving" initiative, which paved the way for converting Zakat al-Fitr into aid and distributing it through the councils.

The Red Crescent aims to distribute 1,000 food baskets in northern and Syria.

The initiative started in the city of Qamishlo, by distributing 100 food baskets containing (rice, bulgur, noodles, tea, oil, salt, flour and lentils) in coordination with the Nodem Organization for Rehabilitation and Sustainable Human Development for People with Special Needs and the Qamishlo Council.

The initiative will continue to distribute all food baskets until the 15th of April.
