Janders Massacre

Last March, the mercenaries of "Ahrar al-Sharqiya" affiliated with the Turkish occupation committed a massacre against four citizens in the 16th neighborhood of Janders district of the occupied Afrin canton on the eve of Newroz on March 20.

The martyrs of the massacre were: Farah al-Din Othman (43 years old) - Ismail Othman (38 years old) - Muhammad Ismail Othman (18 years old) - Muhammad Othman (42 years old).

After the massacre was committed, thousands of residents of Janders district and the districts and villages of the occupied Afrin canton demonstrated against the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, but the officials of the so-called "Kurdish National Council" and Turkish intelligence rushed to break up these demonstrations and change their direction, threatening the families of the four martyrs and forcing them to sign a white paper after taking their statement.

On March 22, sources told ANHA’s agency that the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation killed a pregnant woman in her sixth month with six bullets in front of her husband, in Janders district of occupied Afrin.

This brings the number of those killed by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries during the past month to 5, including a pregnant woman.

Abductions

According to what the human rights organization Afrin-Syria reported to ANHA’s agency, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries kidnapped 9 citizens, including a minor, during the month of March, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said, during a report published on April 2, that it counted "15 cases of arbitrary arrest of civilians by the factions released 9 of them after paying a ransom.

One of the most prominent abductees, according to the organization, is the Afrin flute player Hassan Hajj Nasser, who was kidnapped in Istanbul by Turkish intelligence, for playing traditional Kurdish songs and melodies.

The "civilian police" affiliated with the Turkish occupation also kidnapped the citizen, Hassan Subhi Topal, 30, from the village of Deir Sawan in the Shara district, and took him to an unknown destination.

The "Al-Amshat" mercenaries of the Turkish occupation also kidnapped the minor, Aslan Mesto, from the people of Shia district, under false accusations and pretexts, in order to collect a financial ransom.

Cutting down trees

According to the Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria, the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries cut down, during the month of March, 3 thousand olive trees in order to cut them down, belonging to the people of the canton, including 75 olive trees belonging to the two brothers Ahmed and Khalil Nabo, all charitable from the people of Kafr Nabo village in Sherawa district. In the field located on the road to the village of Kafr Nabo and the village of Basoufan.

While the SOHR stated in its outcome that more than 805 olive trees were cut down in various villages and districts of Afrin, during 20 tree-cutting operations.

Settlement

The Turkish occupation, with the support of a Qatari association, began building a settlement in the village of Hekja in the Shih district, and according to the sources, the association pledged to build more settlements in the occupied province, its environs and villages.

Islamization of the Yazidis

The occupation mercenaries forced two citizens of the same family to convert to Islam and uttering the Islam’s Declaration of Faith under threat, by one of the sheikhs of the so-called "Waqf" association in the Yazidi village of Qibar in Shara district.
