K.Star: Measures must be taken to topple Imrali's regime

Today, the Kongra Star Council issued a written statement on the occasion of the birth of leader Ocalan, which falls on April 4.

The statement praised the leader Ocalan's resistance on the torture regime in Imrali and renewed the pledge to follow his ideas on the occasion of April 4.

Concerning the Committee against Torture regarding the strict isolation of the leader Ocalan, Kongra Star stated: "A multi-policy of Imrali's regime is always being pursued by the conspiring international forces that pursue new policies in this process and the best example is the failure of the European Committee against Torture to make any statement regarding its visit to Imrali during the month of September 2022, despite the attempts and insistence of public opinion and leader Ocalan. In its report, the committee said, "We visited Imrali," but no information were revealed about the leader Ocalan, Omar Khairi Konar, Vey Aktash, and Hamili Yildirim.

According to the report of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, Imrali's visit was not part of its program, but rather a private visit, despite all of this, the committee did not address this issue or evaluate it, neither after the visit nor in its official report, so this increases our concern and fears. This is a violation of all international laws, morals and human conscience, as the conspiring international forces pursue their policies towards the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the Middle East in the person of the leader.

The statement continued, pointing out that no meeting was held in Imrali during the past two years and that no information was received about the leader Ocalan or other detainees in it, and said: "Although the leader and the rest of the detainees in Imrali have the right to meet with their lawyers and families, according to the European Human Rights Treaty and international law, the only visit of the Committee Against Torture, which took place in September 2022, is the first known visit that was reported to the public opinion during the last two years, and despite the controversy that Leader  did not go out to meet, the Committee did not make any statement to the public opinion during the past six months.

They say that they only visited Imrali, but they do not talk about their observations and expectations and this proves that the Committee Against Torture is part of the system of torture and isolation in Imrali.”

Kongra Star called on women, youth, friends and the entire democratic public opinion to carry out democratic activities to put pressure on the Committee against Torture regarding its report and explained, "Fight against this injustice and legal violation, through legal means, democratic activities and through the media,  we must warn more and force the Committee against Torture and the concerned institutions in Europe to take measures to overthrow the Imrali's regime."

We call on everyone, including women activists, human rights activists, and legal institutions, especially our people and friends in Europe to protest against position of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, and to put an end to this situation.
