Damascus government forces seize quantities of aid and impose royalties on truck drivers

 Today, a convoy of 30 trucks crossed the Al-Tayha crossing between the areas of the Autonomous Administration and the areas of the Damascus government, heading towards the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in Aleppo, and Al-Shahba, after obstructing its crossing for days and preventing its passage.

 The convoy included aid provided by the people of Sulaymaniyah in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) within the framework of the Nawasikum campaign, the Hana campaign, and from the people of Kobani canton, as part of the "Together for Humanity" campaign.

 Private sources told our agency that the checkpoints of the Damascus government forces, located on the road after the Al-Tayha crossing, imposed royalties on truck drivers within the convoy, in return for allowing their passage.

 The sources confirmed that the Damascus government forces also seized “quantities of aid intended for the affected people, and took it from trucks, and it included foodstuffs, blankets, sponges, quantities of clothes, and others…”

 Also, earlier, the Damascus government checkpoints seized more than half of the aid provided by the Autonomous Administration to the stricken areas in Aleppo and al-Shahba, and impeded the passage of the aid provided by the Kurdish Red Crescent to the stricken areas and stipulated obtaining half of it.
