The United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria issued a 44-page report in which it talked about the violations of Turkey's mercenaries in Idlib and Afrin.

 “Members of the Syrian National Army continued arbitrary arrest and detention, including enforced disappearance, continued torture, rape and ill-treatment, hostage-taking and looting, all of which amount to crimes against humanity,” the commission said.

The report talked about threats of arrest against the residents of Afrin who demanded the return of their homes, not to mention the repeated kidnappings against the people of Afrin, and the demand for ransom in exchange for their release. The report also talked about the "civilian police" in Afrin killing a Kurdish lawyer under torture.

The report also referred to each of the mercenaries of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the Syrian National Army, who practiced rape and other sexual violence, which the report described; They are war crimes.

The committee also talked about documented cases of rape committed by members of the "Syrian National Army", including an Iraqi boy in Sere Kaniye, and members of the Syrian National Army killed a journalist and his pregnant wife in the occupied city of al-Bab.

Regarding the practices of the mercenaries of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the report said that the mercenaries continued to detain civilians arbitrarily, and that the prisoners did not receive enough food and medicine.

Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham also continued, according to the report, the killing of prisoners, including women, by firing squad, and continued to tighten control over the work of local organizations, the media and journalists.
