Asia Abdullah from Newroz al-Shahba: No occupier can put out the flame of Newroz

Under the slogan "In the spirit of Newroz resistance, we liberate the leader Ocalan and defeat the occupation." Today, the Newroz 2023 celebration was held in al-Shahba canton in the village of Alousha in al-Ahdath district.

After the Newroz flame was lit, and a minute of silence was held in honor of the souls of the martyrs, the participants listened to an audio recording of the leader Abdullah Ocalan's assessments of Newroz and its importance, after which the message of the Afrin Liberation Forces (HRE) was read.

Next, the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Asia Abdullah, delivered a speech in which she said: "Just as Kawa al-Haddad revolted against injustice and tyranny so that the people could live in peace and security, we renew today the covenant to achieve peace and freedom again."

"In the seventies of the last century, the flame of the revolution was lit under the leadership of leader Abdullah Ocalan in order to rid the Kurdish people and the Middle East of the injustice and denial practiced by the occupying countries against these people," she added.

Pointing out that "the Kurdistan Freedom Movement arose in order to revive the spirit of freedom and dignity for the people, and to guarantee a free life for them, under the leadership of Mazloum Dogan, who lit the flame of Newroz with his body."

We will raise the pace of resistance against the occupiers

In the midst of her speech, Asia Abdullah affirmed, "We will liberate Afrin and light the flame of Newroz again in Jiyi Krumeng, and we will raise the pace of resistance against the occupiers and enemies, as no force or occupier can extinguish the flame of Newroz."

"Yesterday, a group of mercenaries targeted the people of the occupied Janders district, because they lit the Newroz flame, causing the martyrdom of these citizens, but the insistence of the people in their position and lighting the flame despite the mercenaries' noses shows the extent of their clinging to their right," she added.

She indicated that the massacre of the Turkish occupation mercenaries in Janders yesterday is a continuation of the policy of genocide against the Kurdish people in Afrin, and stressed that this year will be the year of victory and liberation of the occupied areas.

Asia Abdullah concluded her speech by saying: "We will strive to reach a free Syria that brings together all peoples and components."

We will make Newroz this year the Newroz of liberating all occupied lands

The Democratic Autonomous Administration of Afrin and al-Shahba cantons also blessed, in a speech that came from the words of the co-chair of the Culture and Art Authority in the administration, Mohammad Wesi, the Newroz holiday for all peoples, and he said: "This occasion proves the extent of the strong relationship with each other, and their co-existence together in peace”

Stressing, "We will make Newroz this year, the Newroz of freedom for the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and the liberation of all occupied lands."

The Newroz celebration activities continue in al-Shahba by presenting artistic performances.
