SDF: 9 helicopters crash martyrs handed over

SDF announced, through a written statement today, that they have recovered the bodies of 9 male and female fighters who were killed in the crash of two helicopters in southern Kurdistan on the 15th of March.

The text of the statement, published by the Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces, stated: "After a series of communications, our forces were able to recover the bodies of nine martyrs of the leaders and fighters of the YAT Anti-Terrorism Units, who were martyred in the crash of two helicopters in southern Kurdistan while they were heading to the city of Sulaymaniyah as part of the joint efforts to combat ISIS cells on March 15th.

A team of our forces, accompanied by members of the General Command, transported the bodies of the martyrs to the city of Hasaka.

Tomorrow, March 22, our forces will hold a solemn military and popular farewell ceremony for the bodies of the martyrs in the city of Hasaka, as part of central activities that begin with the popular and official gathering in front of the Martyr Saria Hospital in the Ghweran neighborhood, at exactly 11 am, and then transfer the bodies carried on their shoulders to Sardam Stadium in the same neighborhood. Where military music will be played to salute the martyrs and then start the ceremony, with a speech by the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces and other words by the official institutions of NE Syria and representatives of the partners and allies of our forces in the war against terrorism.

"Our forces call upon the patriotic and moral sense of all our people, in the name of the pure blood of our martyrs that was spilled in order to protect the region and its components to actively participate in the farewell ceremony."
