Jazira AA: March 12 breaks barrier of fear among Syrians

 On the eve of March 12, the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Jazira region issued the anniversary of the Qamishlo uprising, which turned into a massacre at the hands of the security services of the Damascus government in 2004.

 In the statement, the administration stressed that the regimes that were built on usurping the rights of others and obliterating the identity of peoples must make room for democratic transformations, otherwise their demise will be before the will of the peoples.

 It indicated: The spark of the March 12 uprising was a clear message from our people, who rose up against injustice, tyranny and the policy of exclusion.

 The text of the statement read:

 Eighteen years on the Qamishlo uprising on March 12, which started from Qamishlo and spread to all regions of Rojava, Damascus, Aleppo and European countries.  And the other peoples in Syria through its practice of the most heinous methods of repression in various ways and means in order to pass its nationalist, racist and domineering projects at the expense of the rights, aspirations and visions of the peoples in Syria, which continue to this day, despite the years of the Syrian crisis and the tragic reality.

The Qamishlo uprising broke the barriers of fear among the Syrian people , as it was the spark and the spirit of the July 19 revolution. In all stages of our revolution, which we still follow in the spirit of the Qamishlo uprising in our march.

 Eighteen years on, and the Syrian regime is still following its previous approach in dealing with files and issues of concern to the political future of Syria, by insisting on security and military solutions and adopting a policy of exclusion, denial, and a central mentality that rejects successful initiatives and solutions proposed by the Autonomous Administration of the North and East Syria in order to end the Syrian crisis by ending the occupation and reaching a collective Syrian will and decision towards democratic transformation.

 The spark of the March 12 uprising was a clear and open message from our people, who rose up against injustice, tyranny, and the policy of exclusion, and its rejection of all attempts that targeted the components of the region, including Kurds, Arabs, and Syriacs. Rather, its message was adherence to the cultural heritage, societal values, bonds of brotherhood, and coexistence.

 Likewise, the regimes that were built on usurping the rights of others and obliterating the identity of peoples must review and abandon their political system and make way for democratic transformations, otherwise their demise will be before the will of the peoples.

 However, these regimes still continue to this day in their tyranny, are still trying to agree despite all the differences on the basis of fighting any democratic project in the region.

We are in the Autonomous Administration in the Jazira region, as we remember the martyrs of the March 12 uprising and all the martyrs of our revolution, we offer condolences to their families. We also affirm that we are moving forward in making Syria democratic and decentralized system to preserve the gains that have been achieved as a result of the resistance of our people and our forces under our Autonomous Administration, which represents the spirit of the March 12 uprising, as well.  Struggle without hesitation for the liberation of the occupied territories, which have become breeding grounds for terrorism, and for the safe and dignified return of the displaced.
