Unidentified persons target one of the headquarters of the "Eighth Brigade" west of Daraa

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle, after midnight, Saturday-Sunday, threw a hand grenade at one of the military headquarters of the "Eighth Brigade" of the Damascus government in the city of Tafas in the western countryside of Daraa, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

This comes at a time when the series of chaos and security chaos continues in the areas under the control of the Damascus government, especially in Daraa, where, since the beginning of this year, the number of targets there, according to the SOHR’s documentation, has reached 78 cases of security chaos, all of which took place in different ways and methods, and resulted in the death of 58 citizens, most of them citizens and members of the Damascus government forces.

These numbers and the escalation in the rate of targeting and murders confirm the failure of the Damascus government to control the security situation in the Syrian regions on which “settlements” were imposed, such as the city of Daraa, which underwent two settlement processes, the first in 2018 and the second in 2021, as the policy of imposition and coercion turned the region into a hotbed of murders. And assassinations without accountability.
